Photography and Well Being / Mindful Photography with Adrian Wyatt

Adrian Wyatt (@xrosspurpose) is both an engaging speaker and a fascinating photographer. Last night, Backwell Camera Club members were treated to a unique talk about how he uses a mindfulness and wellbeing approach to find and compose his images. His stories are absorbing; the photographs are captivating. Not one to take the conventional pic, he explores facets of photography we may not have thought of for ourselves. The result is always something honest and authentic. The first photograph in this set is the very first image he took on his own mindfulness and wellbeing journey. His wish is that others take that step, too.

Adrian runs a range of workshops and photography walks, including @bristolfolkhouse (btw, one of our members can thoroughly endorse these) and around Bristol by night. To find out more about his teaching, his work, his inspiration, the connections he makes between images and wellbeing, plus some of his award-winning photographs, visit: https://xrosspurposes.com

Thank you so much, Adrian, for coming to BCC and offering us all plenty to think about. “There is no such thing as a bad photograph” – our new mantra!
